Wedding photographer intern needed

Orange County based wedding photographer Jack Rodriguez is looking for a few summer interns for the 2011 wedding season! We are looking for someone who has the desire to work in the industry of wedding photography. Someone who is artistic, eager to learn, has a passion for what they do and enjoys working with people. We will offer the full experience to you as an intern. You will be working with Jack on initial client meetings, engagement sessions, shooting weddings, post wedding editing and social media for the company. You will have access to working any or all weddings for the 2011 year. We will require 5-10 hours a week starting off. Our approach is relaxed and natural and we are looking for someone who has the same kind of personality.

Requirements:

1. Familiar with Photoshop*

2. Some exposure to Lightroom and Aperture*

3. Capable using a Mac

4. Someone who likes to write and journal.

5. Someone who loves weddings and has a passion for photography.

6. Someone who knows how to use a Canon camera.

We are excited to hear from you and look forward working with someone who has the same passion as we do!

Welcome Kenna!

And here she is! The beautiful Kenna. I am so excited to share with you this beautiful baby girl with you all today. Remember the super fun matrinity shoot we did with the 50's house wife at Lucilles?! Well here is the new edition to the family. Being just a month old we had to work fast with this little one. She was such a good sport though. It must be really hard to have no idea whats going on and someone keeps taking your binky away! But the moments we caught are awesome and I can't wait to do more session with this little girl and document her growth!

I was so excited to be able to take my good friend Brooke's maternity pictures. She is expecting her second child in the next month or so! She has an adorable daughter Leyla who joined us in this fun rustic shoot. Leyla (Model in the making) knew just what she wanted out of these photos and she sure did get it! We went to Camp in Costa Mesa which ended up being the perfect location for these two. Very hip and rustic there were so many fun places to take photos. I had such a great time with them and I can't wait till we get to do a new born shoot with Brooke's newest bundle of joy!

You may remember Logan & ilaya from their awesome engagement session just a couple of months ago! Logan & ilaya are the type of couple that walk in a room and light up the place. They have big hearts, big smiles & big personalities. Logan and ilaya are very talented guitar players who rock out every weekend. I've Known logan sense high school he's one of my best friends. So when he asked me to photograph his wedding i was super excited! They decided to do there ceremony at Wilshire Avenue Church where they met. I adore them and had so much fun on their wedding day.

I had so much fun at Jacquie and Gabriel wedding everyone was very outgoing! They had there wedding in downtown Santa Ana at this awesome gallery called OOCC. Their ceremony took place across the street in a courtyard in front of the gallery. They had a very retro 50's theme to the whole event. With a classic car in the mix the whole day was fun! This couple really loves each other and you can see it in the pictures. I had such a blast with them and I hope to see them in the future still full of love and happiness!

I am so excited to share this awesome maternity shoot I did with my favorite family the Gonzales'! Kim wanted to have the feel of a family from the 50's. We did a covert operation at Lucille's to capture these pictures. They turned out so good. This family is up for anything and are so easy to shoot. Can't wait for the newborn photoshoot!

My good friend Zack and i decided to make Pizza on the grill BUTT not just any kind of pizza we made a ultimate breakfast pizza and Lunch pizza.

Lehua and Ignacio wedding was a lot of fun for me. I had so much to work with since the wedding was head to toe designed! They pulled out all the stops when it came to decor. Well here's another exciting engagement session! Logan & llaya are dear friends of mine. I have known Logan since high school and llaya and I met at our old church. Logan & llaya deiced to do their engagement session at a bowling alley which totally fits their personalities :). These two are getting married in September and I'm really stoked for their wedding. It's hard to believe that one of my best friends is getting married. Time has flown by so quickly. It feels like just yesterday that we were walking home from high school. I have some of the greatest friends in the world. I feel so blessed beyond belief that I am able to live out my passion doing what I love.

You guys might remember Erika and Brennen from couple of months ago. I did their engagement pictures at the beach. They love the beach so much that they decided to get married at Breakers Beach Coronado Island, CA on the eleventh of June. They started their new lives together, and I was there to capture every minute of it. I absolutely love my clients and I am so glad Erika and Brennen are one of them. Their wedding was absolutely beautiful and the amount of time and effort they spent on every detail turned out 100 times better then expected. I love watching how a couple interacts, and when i got to hang out with them on their engagement session I could see that their solid relationship and love for one another was going to last a life time. I'm so happy for them.

Whew! Has it really been a month since i blogged last?! I need to step up my game and I intend to BRING IT, especially since I’ve been shooting like mad! Let me start things off with this awesome couple, Lehua + Ignacio. I am so glad that they hired me to capture their engagement session and wedding day. We shot their engagement session where they first met at Cal state LA. They are real troopers and drove all the way from San Francisco for there photo-shoot! Lehua + Ignacio make a sweet couple and when I say sweet I really mean it! My experience with was just that, SWEET! Make sure to stay tuned because their wedding is next on the list.

Palos Verdes engagement session

First off, sorry for the lack of post. I've been really busy with weddings this month. Anyway I had the opportunity to photograph mayra and Carlos. When I started this engagement shoot with Mayra and Carlos in the Polos Verdes, the light was absolutely beautiful, streaming through the trees and providing a beautiful warm light. They were a lovely couple to work with. Not only was this day special because of the engagement session but it was mayra's birthday! Which made things even more magical. I must say I am really looking forward to their wedding in October.

Janelle & Brett wedding was absolutely amazing! They are a blast to work with and trust me to create beautiful images for them. Plus you can totally see the love they have for each other. One of my favorite parts of the wedding was during the ceremony. When Janelle was walking down the aisle towards Brett. They played TOP GUN ANTHEM! It was awesome! Brett had no idea they were going to play this song. What a perfect song for a Pilot like Brett :) The reception was at the Sheraton Hotel right across from Disneyland.

Jenelle and Brett engagement session we ventured out to the happiest place on earth... DISNEYLAND! . after waiting... 2 hours to get into Disneyland We ventured out to California adventure. This session was so fun, playful and romantic. I thought the park was a perfect choice to capture their engagement pictures. I can't wait to photograph there wedding next week!

Brennen and Erika

Brennen and Erika are a very active couple who really enjoy being out doors together. I met this couple at Scott and Lindsay's wedding and it was a lot of fun shooting their engagement photos. Both of them surf so the location was easy for them to choose, the beach. After many days of rain the clouds parted and the sun came out just for us to capture the two in their natural habitat. Brennen loves playing the guitar and leads the worship band at his church. Erika is a very talented dancer and is learning the guitar as well. They met at Erika's grandparents church and hit it off right away. Becoming friends in the process of getting to know each other. Erika lived in Washington at the time and Brennen resided in Southern California. Frequent visits on the holidays and annual summer camping trips really established their bond with each other. Four years later at Brennens surprise belated birthday party in front of family and friends Brennen asked Erika to marry him. Erika not knowing Brennen as going to propose since she was so busy with the planning of his surprise party was happy to say yes!

Erika loved my sun glare images from recent photos she has seen of other couples. The lens flare effect works really well at the beach and I think it really captures their personalties. It is a great feeling when clients are attracted to my style of photography and allow me to share in their special moments.

Andrew and Jamie

Andrew and Jamie's engagement photos were taken at Hillcrest Park in Fullerton. I met Andrew and Jamie at Scott and Lindsey's wedding a few weeks back. We became good friends during the wedding process. Jamie loved how much fun Scott and Lindsey had shooting with me at their wedding and asked if I could photograph her wedding as well. Andrew and Jamie met in a very interesting way. After church one Sunday a group of people went to have brunch. Jamie noticed "the only bald buff guy eating a guacamole salad". The next week Jamie made a bet with Andrew that had to do with the amount of compliments people get while wearing hats. If Jamie own she would get the prize of a 100 cookies if she didn't she would put her hat theory to rest! From then on they built their relationship through friendship and the focus on their faith in God. I can't wait to shoot their wedding in September!

Lindsay and Scott's wedding

Lindsay and Scott had a very storybook wedding. Their wedding was held at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Ana. The unique location really fit the couples personalities and their love for art. They really trusted my instincts and it really shows through the photos we captured on that amazing night. From the first kiss to the soda in glass bottles everything was beautiful. They really have a true love for each other that shows instantly. It was a pleasure to photographic this wedding for many reasons but mainly because of the new friends I made in the process. This post is abnormally long due to the massive amount of shots taken that all came out beautiful.

Kaia and Shaedon

Kaia and Shaedon have to be two of the most amazing kids I have ever met. These kids are full of life and wise beyond their years. Kaia always has a story to tell or a dance to show you. Shaedon is mastering his skateboarding skills and has a large vocabulary for a young man. Valentines Day happens to be their Mom's favorite holiday and she wanted to do something special this year. I envisioned a vintage Valentines Day setting with Shaedon being the photographer capturing his sister Kaia. I used their backyard for the setting and was able to use some of their decor for props.

Israel is a very talented person who knows how to dance and sing. He's always carrying around a big, bright smile that reflects the kind of person he is. He is very intelligent and fun to be around. The energy I feel from him is very inspirational and positive! We decided to do our shoot at a local park in Cypress. It was on a very sunny, wonderful day. We were also joined by Jamie Brennan, who provided us with some very yummy cupcakes.

Engagement

I hit it off with these two immediately. They are my kind of people. Up for an adventure, love God and life, playful, funny, down to earth. I met Lindsay a couple of years ago when I was attending Fullerton College. She remembered that I took pictures and how much fun I had. I would always talk to her about my photo shoots. I didn't hear from her for about a year, so when I got a lovely text asking me if I could shoot their wedding, I said of course :) Scott is a graphic designer who has a lot of visions, which is great! We talked about their vision for wedding pictures. They don't want to do the traditional things, which means we get to have a lot fun! We did our photo shoot in downtown Santa Ana, CA. We went on a little adventure...where we found awesome places to take pictures :)

Matt+Molly=Awesome!

I was so honored that Matt and Molly asked me to shoot their wedding. Matt and Molly's wedding was amazing. I've known Matt for several years now and Molly for about 2 years. They're both very artistic people, who know what they want, which shows throughout their wedding. Matt Lewis is a worship leader at Beach Point Church. He has a passion for it and that always inspired me. Molly was a very fun bride, who was down to do anything, and took direction very well. Molly just looked beautiful and happy in her wedding dress. I have a lot of favorites in this set of images...the light was just perfect and so were my awesome subjects!

Kim and Steve are one of the coolest couples I know. Kim came up with a great idea for their anniversary. Kim's idea was to do an anniversary photo shoot for Steve, which turned out to be very fun! At first, they were both very nervous and didn't know what to do, but little did they know...they have great modeling skills! After a couple of shots, they started to show their true love for one another, and started to have fun. Kim and Steve have two wonderful, loving kids named Kaia and Shaedon. We spent our day chatting and walking around downtown Fullerton, where I had my vision for their photo shoot. Kim and Steve were very open to do anything, which made everything very exciting. I hope everyone enjoys my first blog. :)
